In the company’s historical correspondence, this fabric appears as one of the most requested and appreciated: the Art Gallery – Palazzo Strozzi in Florence defined it in 1926 as “the famous velvet”. Papa Giulio (Pope Julius) velvet was also sold abroad, as evidenced, among others, by an order from Scalamandré in 1961 destined for the US market.
