Documents
and Historical Photographs

The Tessitura Bevilacqua preserves a rich historical archive, declared of particular importance by the Archive Superintendence of Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige since 1985. The documentation covers a period of time from 1905 to 1988 and consists of: the company's historical correspondence, which includes both commercial exchanges and some private letters; registers and other accounting documentation; the administrative documentation and documentation related to the management of personnel and the production process in general; and the technical archive.

As part of the work for the 150th anniversary of the company, the archive was reorganized, which allowed the inventory of documentation from the period 1905-1945 to be revised and updated, and a list of documentation from the period 1946-1988 to be produced. In addition to the documentation kept in the archive, there is also that which has now become part of the furnishings of the company's historic headquarters: paper documents, diplomas and historical photographs of the moments that contributed to creating the identity of the Tessitura throughout its activity.

Finally, the desire to preserve the memory of the salient episodes of its history is also reflected in the collection of historical photographs kept by the company, which contains testimonies of illustrious visits to the Tessitura, including those of Cardinal Roncalli and other Patriarchs of Venice and that of Queen Silvia of Sweden, as well as the photographs of the main fabrics produced. Among the latter, of particular interest are the photographs that testify to the uses for which the fabrics were produced, such as that of the columns of the Basilica della Salute adorned with the soprarizzo velvet designed specifically for that commission, or those of the hall of the transatlantic liner "Conte di Savoia" furnished with "Rinascimento" and "Giardinetto" soprarizzo velvets, as well as numerous photographs of the sacred vestments produced with Bevilacqua fabrics.
