The Tessitura preserves some photographs of this velvet used to adorn the altar of the church of Eraclea (formerly Grisolera). [See also Historical Archive section 1905-1945, correspondence, letter 3375, in which in 1938 the Archpriest’s Office of Grisolera shares details on the ornamentation of the columns of the church]. The archive also contains a letter from 1935 from the American consul Robert MacCloud, containing the request for a damask with the same design.
