The dating of the velvet can be traced back to a letter sent to the weaving mill by Giacomo Mercuri in 1935, in the margins of which were noted some samples of fabrics sent to him, among which this velvet also appears. [Source: Historical archive section 1905-1945, correspondence, letter 2298]
