18th-c. inspired velvet (1941Sant’Alvise church commission)

This velvet, in the red-yellow variant, was used to decorate the altar of the church of Sant’Alvise in Venice during the most important festivities. Evidence of this is the order of approximately 60 meters of soprarizzo in red/yellow tones, placed on August 20, 1941. [Source: Historical Archive section 1905-1945, correspondence, letter 4182bis.
