The instrument allows you to graphically reproduce the geometric ratios of a fabric on graph paper, that is, to obtain the weaving draft starting from the fabric. The quadrangular wooden structure holds a regular grid, fixed with nails, superimposed on the fabric, which facilitates the reproduction of the design on the graph paper. Today it is no longer used, as the reproduction of designs is greatly simplified by the use of computers.
