In a letter to the weaving mill in 1935 from Rome, artist Maja Sjöstrom mentioned the brocade “Melograno” design 3399 as one of the possible options to propose to a customer. [Source: Historical archive section 1905-1945, correspondence, letter 1956]. The historical name of this fabric suggests that it was originally produced for Scalamandré.
