The brocade is part of a series of fabrics designed by the artist Maja Sjöstrom in the 1920s, used in part to decorate the Stockholm City Hall; this illustrious commission probably gave the fabric its conventional name. The Tessitura has some photographs of armchairs decorated with this brocade at the Stockholm City Hall.
